Helen Beaver was born in Melbourne. She completed her
education in Brisbane majoring in Art and Art History. Helen undertook
a Fine Arts course at the Brisbane School of Art ("The Tech")
gaining experience in sculpture, oil and acrylic painting, but it was the
challenge of handling watercolours that inspired her to concentrate on
this medium.
She has won several awards for her drawings and watercolours the latest being the Rotary Internation Art Spectacular 2010 prize for Watercolour. Helen also has been an invited participant in the Tattersalls Landscape Prize since 2005, a finalist in 2009 and in 2010 under a different format was invited to exhibit in the 'Iconic Brisbane' exhibition to run in conjunction with the Tattersalls Landscape Prize. Helen's work
has been exhibited in Melbourne, Paris and New York, as well as Brisbane
and its surrounds.
